I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a writer – except for that short period when I was about ten and wanted to be a jockey – I blame Walter Farley.
I live in New Orleans on purpose, which is to say I wasn’t born here. I moved here on purpose – twice, once before Katrina and once after. I have to remind myself of that from time to time,, like when construction clogs the streets so badly it takes me forty-five minutes to travel five miles or when I hit a pot hole the size of a swimming pool or when my brand new car is rear ended at a traffic light before I even had a chance to put the license plate on! Notice a theme?
Warts and all, I love New Orleans. It feeds my muse. I love the music, the people, the food, the history. It’s hard to put into words. It’s where I belong and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
When I’m not writing, I like to read, paint, be a tourist at home, and play with my adorable Shih-Tzus, Harry and Sally.
My goals for 2016 are to publish three new novels, buy a new laptop, and meet Tia Maria Torres in person.
